Automatically insert the sender's name into an Outlook email

    In this article

In your shared email templates for Outlook, you can add a field that is automatically populated with the sender’s name when the template is used.

    1. Start creating or editing a template.

    2. Place the cursor where the sender’s name should go.

    3. On the template editor toolbar, select the The Insert macro button Insert macro button.

    4. Decide what you need: the sender’s first name, last name, or full name. Then select the corresponding option.

Select the option you want to use.
    5. After the macro placeholder appears in your template, save the template.

Each time the template is used, the placeholder is automatically replaced with the sender’s name.
