Outlook email templates with fillable fields for percentage values

By using the WhatToEnter macro, you can create input fields for percentage values in your email templates for Outlook. These are the steps to follow:

    1. In the email template you’re creating or editing, place the cursor where you want an input field for a percentage value to appear. On the template editor toolbar, select the Insert macro button.

Use the Insert macro button to open the macro list in Shared Email Templates.
    2. Select What to enter (WTE).

    3. The What to enter dialog opens.

On the General tab, select Percentage, enter the field name and a default value, and specify the number of decimal places.

For example, to create a field for a project completion percentage, do the following:

      • Under Type, select Percentage.
      • Under Field name, enter Completion percentage.
      • In Default value, enter 10.
      • In Decimal places, set the number to zero.
Set up a percentage field in an Outlook email template with the What to enter dialog.

Switch to the Advanced tab to do any of the following:

      • Specify the value to insert into an email message if the result returned by the WhatToEnter macro is not empty.
      • Specify the value to insert into an email message if the result returned by the WhatToEnter macro is empty.
      • Enter a minimum value.
      • Enter a maximum value.

      Once you’re ready, select OK.

    4. Your Outlook email template now contains the WhatToEnter macro placeholder. Select Save.

See the percentage field placeholder in the email template.

When you insert the template that has an input field for percentage values into an Outlook email message, a pop-up dialog will appear. Enter the percentage you want to use and select OK.

In the pop-up dialog, keep or change the percentage value for your Outlook email.
