    Outlook email templates with a time picker

    If you want to have a time picker in your shareable email template for Outlook, follow the steps below.

    1. In your email template, choose a place for a time picker and put the cursor there. Then select the Insert macro button on the template editor toolbar.

      Use the Insert macro button to start adding a time picker to your Outlook email template.
    2. Select What to enter (WTE).

    3. The What to enter dialog opens.

      • On the General tab:

        • Select Time.
        • Enter the field name.
        • Select a time format.
        • Select a language.

        For example, to add a time picker for an application deadline in the hh:mm format, do the following:

        • Under Type, select Time.
        • Under Field name, enter Deadline.
        • Under Time format, select hh:mm.
        • Under Language, leave default selected.
        Configure the time picker in the What to enter dialog.
      • On the Calculate tab, you can shift the current time forward or backward.

      • If you switch to the Advanced tab, you can specify:

        • What value to insert into your email message if the result returned by the macro is not empty.
        • What value to insert into your email message if the result returned by the macro is empty.
        • What regular expression the value that will be entered or selected via the macro dialog must match.

      When you’re ready, select OK.

    4. A time picker shown with a WhatToEnter macro placeholder is added to your Outlook email template. Select Save.

    When you insert a template that has a time picker into an Outlook email message, a pop-up dialog will show up. You can keep the suggested time or select a different one.

    Use the pop-up dialog to specify the time to insert into an Outlook email.

    Once you’re ready, select OK.
