    1. Prepare the email subject text.

Think of the text you want to use in the email subject line. In your email template, click the Insert macro button, double-click Fill Subject, and enter the text in the pop-up dialog that appears.

    2. Insert the recipient’s name dynamically.

In the same dialog, place the cursor at the beginning of the text. Click the Insert nested macro icon, double-click Insert recipient first name, type a comma and a space, and click OK. If you want the name in another part of the subject line, move the cursor to that spot, insert the macro, and adjust the punctuation as needed.

    3. Save the email template.

Once you see the Fill Subject placeholder in the template, save your changes.

When you insert your template into an Outlook email, the subject line is automatically filled with your text, and the recipient’s first name appears right where you need it. This gives you a personalized subject line without having to type the name manually.
